Pyrometer protection tubes

Pyrometer protection tubes protect radiation thermometers or thermocouples from damage.

Zwick has many years of experience producing these special tubes from heat-resistant chrome-nickel steel or ferritic chrome steel on its own machines. Depending on the steel grade selected, they are resistant to reducing or oxidising atmospheres. The leak tightness of the tubes is thoroughly tested under water at an air pressure of 6 bar. Pyrometer protection tubes are extensively used in measurement and control technology, for example in annealing furnaces for temperature measurement, or in power plant and reactor construction.
